“There's plenty of Queensland supporters here too, which is good,” Tate said at Greenfield Park.
“Not really,” Cooper put in with a grin.
The former league stars led a skills and drills clinic at the home of Albury Thunder as the first stop in the Road to Origin regional tour.
About 60 children took the chance to learn some tips from the experts, who were keen to promote the annual contest between NSW and Queensland.
Divided into groups based on age, the youngsters threw themselves into each exercise with enthusiasm, encouraged by the visitors.
Thunder shirts were prominent among the participants but some Wodonga juniors also attended.
Albury Thunder president Rick O’Connell said it was great to host former players of such quality.
“Our local kids who are interested in the game will really benefit from it,” he said.
