For the little ones, story time with arts and craft activities will be held at Lavington Library on Wednesday from 10.30am and Albury LibraryMusuem on Thursday from 11am.
Albury council’s sustainability and environment team will also host a talk at the LibraryMusuem on Thursday from 11am until noon.
Deputy mayor David Thurley told The Border Mail the day was about appreciating the natural delights the Border had on offer.
“We’ve got our trails and parkland in Nail Can Hill – we want people to think about those,” he said.
“We’re also encouraging people to bring in their electricity bills. We’ve got staff who can point out where you are wasting power.”
World Environment Day is an initiative from the United Nations, which aims to encourage worldwide awareness and action for environmental causes.
