A GROUP of wattle trees potentially saved a woman from injury on Saturday, after her Mazda spun off the road. The Myrtleford driver, 25, was travelling on the Great Alpine Road, near the Buckland Gap turn-off, about noon.

She went around a sweeping left bend, where the wheels went off the side of the road. The woman over corrected and her car crossed to the wrong side where it started to spin.
She came to a stop in some wattle trees and police are blaming driver inexperience for the incident.
