Lucas said he was preparing in the North East for the third round of the sport’s World Cup series when he came undone.
“I was out riding on Sunday and came a bit unstuck in a rock garden and smashed my heel into a rock,” he said.
“Turns out its broken and I’ll be out for eight weeks.”
The young gun was supposed to be on a plane out of Australia to Fort William on Tuesday but will instead get a lot of rest and recreation time with friends and family.
Lucas is also likely to miss out on the fourth round in Austria but hopes to be back on the track for round five in Switzerland on July 9.
Its been a bad run of luck for Lucas who also crashed in the first round in France where he narrowly escaped major injury.
Yackandandah rival Oliver Zwar, buoyed by his 27th placing at the leg in Cairns, is in Scotland for round three.
He said if he got a few more decent results he might get interest from a big sponsor.
“Some of the factory teams might take an interest into me and (I could) potentially ride full-time next year,” Zwar said.
“That’s the ultimate goal but I’m just stoked to be here and excited to race.”
