More than 250 loving messages were posted on the 23-year-old’s Facebook page, all praying and wishing for her to pull through.
She remained in a critical condition in the Royal Melbourne Hospital with a head injury and broken leg from Wednesday’s head-on crash.
Miss McLennan was a nurse at Northeast Health Wangaratta and had been on her way to work when the crash occurred.
One message on her Facebook page read, “you have always been the one caring for others and wished only the best for everyone around you ... keep pushing through darling girl”.
Others paid tribute to her strength and bubbly personality.
“You've always come across as a determined young lady and I know you'll be fighting,” a friend wrote.
Sergeant Cameron Roberts said all serious crashes had a human element and a ripple effect through the community.
“It’s a case that the people who are killed and injured on our roads have friends, family members and work colleagues,” he said.
“It’s only when one of those numbers is someone you care about and love that it takes on a whole new meaning.
“People need to start putting faces to all those numbers and putting families to all those numbers.”
The Victoria Police Major Collision Investigation Unit continued to look at the cause of the crash.
“They haven’t been able to interview the drivers involved at this stage because of their injuries,” a police spokesman said.
