The Bulldogs ground their way to a 5.11 (41) to 5.5 (35) victory – their ninth straight – on the back of superb performances from Sam Peters, Jordan Solimo and Jai Canny.
Peters was outstanding with his run and carry on a wing while former Wangaratta Magpies Solimo and Canny were particularly strong around the contest in the second half.
“Goorambat are a quality side, a good pressure and tackling side, so it wasn’t a shock for us to end up in a contest like that,” Bulldog coach Trevor Edwards said.
“We’re very happy to get the win.”
Bonnie Doon moved four points clear in second position with a 28-point win over Glenrowan, an inaccurate Milawa got the points against Benalla All Blacks, King Valley was too strong for Whorouly while Bright and Moyhu also scored mammoth victories.
