EARLIER: Heavy snow fall has closed the Great Alpine Road between Harrietville and Hotham Heights.

VicRoads will keep the road closed until snow clearing machinery has been through.

Frost, ice, snow and fog may have affected some roads in the alps, drivers should keep wheel chains on hand if required.
