The singing sisters, who hail from Brisbane and are in the midst of promoting their new single In My Blood, posted a photo to Facebook before the shot was overrun with comments encouraging them to eat more.

"You both have talent but please, for the sake of every teenage girl, eat some food, your skinny bodies does not portray a healthy image," one fan wrote.

"I don't think you need to be a qualified doctor to realise that a cheeseburger would do them good," said another.

Identical twin sisters Lisa Marie and Jessica Origliasso, who are both only slighter taller than Kylie Minogue measuring just over 5 feet or 1.55 metres, decided to reply to the comments and outline what they consumed in a day after another fan offered to buy them food.

"Omg! EAT SOMETHING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! I'll pay for the food," one comment said.

"Perfect! Here's our daily shopping/eating list for one day; let us know where you'll be sending it," the 31-year-olds replied, before reeling off a shopping list that would make clean eating advocates proud and organic farmers rub their hands together.

The pair manage to devour 10 organic red potatoes, one bag of organic quinoa, one bag of organic cashews, two bags of organic blue corn chips and a tub of organic vegan chocolate protein powder everyday.

"That is just one day shopping list...Let us know how many you plan on paying for, and we'll keep sending them everyday! But you would prefer we just 'eat a cheeseburger' right?

"To defend our bodies and health has become the most tiresome and frustrating part of being in the public eye. We EAT. We understand that perhaps we are in a minority of people who's frames are naturally smaller than average. But you using us as a billboard of unhealthy eating is 100 per cent incorrect and hurtful. STOP making assumptions about our health, and STOP the body shaming," they added.

"Educate young woman about the beauty and differences of peoples bodies. Also about health and a balanced diet. Suggesting we eat foods with no decent nutritional value only perpetuates the misinformed youth about health and diet. Having that discussion might actually make a difference, as opposed to body shaming every woman who looks 'too skinny' or 'too fat' by societies standards."
