KMA Albury Martial Arts, run by Ozkan Ismail, was representing by a group of eight competitors in the International Sports Karate Association Melbourne Classic.
Ozkan’s mother, Kylie, who helps him run the business, said it was a major achievement for KMA to come out on top against opposition from interstate.
“Every single one of our kids came away with trophies, some were for first and some were second,” she said.
“We had first places in point sparring, in forward combat, sumo and extreme weapons.
“It was the first time for the kids but not new for Ozkan, a two-time world champion for extreme weapons.”
