HEALTH professionals, former councillors and council employees, football and winery identities and the reigning Wangaratta citizen of the year have publicly put their names to backing a second term for independent Indi MP Cathy McGowan.

Doctors Rod Paton, Leo Fogarty, Kevin Powell, Alison Green, Joanne Millar, Tess Goodwin, Ian Wilson, Neil Bright and Simon Craig were among the 178 people listed as supporting Ms McGowan in a full-page advertisement in The Border Mail on Saturday.
They were joined by former Wodonga councillor John Mahony and ex-Wangaratta Council senior staff member Graham Nickless, Ovens and Murray football identities Peter Tossol and John Byrne and Winemakers of Rutherglen chairwoman Belinda Chambers in declaring “We’re with Cathy”.
Wangaratta citizen of the year Anne Shaw is among Ms McGowan’s inner-circle of supporters.
Judy Brewer, the wife of former Deputy Prime Minister and National Party leader Tim Fischer, is also listed as a Ms McGowan backer.
