Osbornes Flat Primary School hosted a Dr Seuss and poetry dress-up day last week to celebrate the conclusion of their classes on the prolific children’s writer.

Students and staff got into the spirit and came in some fabulous costumes, including the Lorax and The Cat in the Hat.
Principal Ruth Dohrmann said the study looked at all the different elements of poetry, including rhythm, imagery and rhyme.
Dr Seuss was used as a poet case study for students to learn from. “We learned about some of the messages behind Dr Suess’ poetry, that great philosopher Dr Suess,” Ms Dohrmann said.
Parent Libby M’Crystal even composed a short poem to mark the occasion.
