►WAGGA: Despairing nurses have called for an independent investigation of the Wagga hospital’s alleged culture of bullying and intimidation.
One of the state’s top nurse’s union officials is flying to Wagga next week for a series of crisis meetings with hospital management, just three months after her last visit to negotiate a ceasefire over a chronic staff shortage dispute.
►LAUNCESTON: A number of wildlife parks involved with the Save the Tasmanian Devil program could refuse to participate in the organisation's latest release, arguing it would place the species' future in jeopardy.
It follows a plan by the program to release 32 devils - 16 from the state's insurance population and 16 from the wild - into bushland at Stony Head in August.

►PARIS: Fathi Bayoudh was a respected officer and doctor in the Tunisian military, but Tuesday night at Istanbul's main airport he was a father worried about his wayward son.
Bayoudh, 58, had arrived in Istanbul weeks earlier to find his son, Anouar, 26, who had run off to join the so-called Islamic State in Syria.
