With Rex Sargeant and Josh Malcolmson unavailable this week and Andrew Cowhan, Joe Silafau and Andrew Smith injured, Jeffery has moved to hooker, Izzy Rawhiti to the centres and Mitch Seaton to fullback.
We just didn’t defend well enough against them last time and let in two or three soft tries.
- Ben Jeffery
Jeffery is no stranger to hooker after playing an off-season in the position for the Gold Coast Titans.
“We will shape up a bit differently this week, but I’m confident the boys will get out there and play some decent footy,” Jeffery said.
“We’ll back the boys in to do well.
“Southcity is the best team in the comp at the moment.
“We didn’t defend well enough against them last time and let in two or three soft tries.
“If we can play 80 minutes and limit their opportunities, we will give ourselves a chance.”
Thunder has a tough run home in the remaining seven rounds and need five wins to be guaranteed finals action.
Southcity mauled Brothers last weekend and coach Nick Skinner will be eager to keep winning to stay on top of the ladder.
