After dropping four matches by eight or less points this season, the Brookers showed they had learnt from the defeats by holding firm in a tense finish.
The home team opened up a three-goal break in the third quarter thanks to strong performances from Josh Jones, Simon Turner, Bailey Parker, Lachie Trethowan and Andrew Mackinlay.
“It was fantastic to win a tight one for a change,” Jones said.
“The boys held on well.
“We have a really young side so it will be good for the side’s confidence.
“It’s all about improving.”
While Crows’ star Al Austin was effective, the Brookers played Turner and Parker on him and made the former Corowa-Rutherglen player earn every possession.
Tom Hofert and Zach Kerr rallied hard for the visitors.
