A woman was treated for shock after a red Ford sedan narrowly missed colliding with her Mitsubishi Lancer at 10.15am on Thursday.
A witness, who pulled over to assist the woman, said she was left shaken.
“The car came across the lane and then they just totally went really fast, you heard the accelerator – they had just floored it,” she said.
“They nearly got this lady (in front of me), she went over, then they nearly got me and I pulled over.
“Cars were pulling out of the way and everything … I thought they were going to kill somebody.”
Senior Constable Phil Jones said speed was “definitely” a factor.
“The car was heading south in the northbound lane – it crossed onto the wrong side of the road at the intersection at Birallee Place,” he said.
“It was total disregard for other road users.
“We’ve broadcast the details of the car to police in Wodonga and NSW as well.”
