The club’s board is being reduced from 12 to 10 with six member-elected board members confirmed at a special meeting late last week.
But nominations for the four independently elected board members have been extended until August 1.
Racing NSW received only four nominations for the independent board positions which included three members of the former board.
They were long-serving club president David Wallace, vice-president Mark Cronin and committee man Dick Sloane.
The successful member-elected board members were Glen Chapman, Gerald Judd, Geoff Miller, Craig Sheather, Ann McHardy and Rod Mullavey.
Former committee men John Ervin and Geoff Alexander retired and Wayne Matsinos didn't renominate.
The board shake-up coincides with a major $1.2 million track upgrade due to begin on August 22.
The 2017 Gold Cup is still scheduled to go ahead in March.
Racing NSW general manager industry and analytical Scott Kennedy confirmed the extra time to flush out more nominations for the new-look board.
“We’ve had a small number of applications,” Mr Kennedy said.
“In the circumstances we’ve decided the period for nominations should be extended to provide the opportunity for any other interested people to come forward.
“In some of the other places we’ve had up to double the number of applications for the positions.
“It’s an important part of the process that we re-advertise and provide an extension.
“It’s not a commentary about individuals.

“It’s about the process.”
The track upgrade will include major civil works on the back straight followed by irrigation and drainage improvements to the entire track.
