Community events will be held in Wodonga, Albury, Splitters Creek, Thurgoona and Beechworth on July 21, which marks the 21st anniversary of the Planet Ark campaign.
Friends of Willow Park will host tree planting at Willow Park from 10am; Splitters Creek Landcare Group and AlburyCity at Barwonga Drive, Splitters Creek, from 9am; Woolshed Thurgoona Landcare and AlburyCity at Ernest Grant Park, Thurgoona, from 10am; Beechworth Urban Landcare and Sustainability Group at Frog Pond, Upper Spring Creek above Lake Sambell Caravan Park, from 10am; and Friends of Padman-Mates Park and Parklands Albury Wodonga at Padman-Mates Park, Albury, from 10am.
The Beechworth event will plant riparian vegetation to aid stream health, stabilise erosion and act as a buffer against private landholders.
The Woolshed Thurgoona Landcare event will plant native trees, shrubs and grasses to improve habitat for wildlife, including the threatened squirrel gliders.
