"We are seeing more and more competition from the US and Brazil on the export side for our products," Meat and Livestock Australia analyst Tim Ryan said.
Teys Australia’s John Langbridge said markets for premium products were booming, especially organic meat, and the company had plans to add organic meat processing programs to their Wagga facility.
"We literally can't get enough of that,” Teys’ John Langbridge said.
“It's something we'd like a few more people to aspire to if we can.
"The demand for that sort of product, particularly in North America, is almost insatiable at the moment."
"… That's really playing to our strengths, we can niche farm animals because we have far better relationships with farmers. In the US it is essentially a corn-fed industry."
