It would be good to finish the game without a new injury
- Steamers coach Mick Raynes
“I’ll just be telling them to enjoy it,” Raynes said.
“It’s been a tough year and I think the boys can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“They have trained really well and the pressure is off.
“They should just enjoy it.”
On top of off-season departures from last year’s premiership, injuries have hit the Steamers hard with Raynes using more than 30 players in first grade.
Arran McDougall joined the injured list after suffering a gashed head last weekend.
“It would be good to finish the game without a new injury,” he said.
“We lost a couple more last weekend.
“It would be good to keep a team on the paddock.
“Even though it’s been a difficult year, the boys have worked really hard and it would be good to finish off against Griffith.”
Griffith is sitting one spot ahead of the Steamers on the ladder and will buoyed by a strong home crowd.
The Blacks were knocked out of finals contention by Tumut last weekend.
In other matches, Wagga City take on CSU, Ag College will struggle against Waratahs and Leeton host Tumut.
