Usually 10 to 15 scholarships would be awarded to young farmers aged 35 and under.
The money would go towards study support and also on-farm professional development activities to help put new skills into practice.
Applications for the program will be accepted until close of business on August 26.
Scholarship recipients will then be announced in late October 2016.
