For the second week in a row the Lady Bandits were outgunned in the third quarter, ultimately falling 66-56.
Canberra's 23-13 burst after half-time was too great a margin for the Lady Bandits to reel in, despite outscoring the Capitals 12-9 in the final quarter.
While disappointed not to come away with the win, coach Jim Wilson said the team's improved defence was a positive.
“I think we did a fairly good job defensively, holding them to 66 is a reasonable score,” he said.
“Offensively though, we really struggled to score.
“We rushed our offence, taking six or eight second turns.
“We need to be more patient, find the right shot at the right time.
“Ultimately we're a work in progress, but there were some positives to take from the game.
