While the Swans were without at least six key players including Brent Ohlin and Matt Bradshaw, the size of the victory has sent shockwaves through the competition.
Even Corryong coach Evan Nicholas was left shaking his head.
“You tell me what happened?” Nicholas said.
“Our seven goal first quarter set it up for us and we took it from there.
“We’re as baffled as anyone by the result.
“We lost to Bullioh last week and they probably thought they could rest a few.”
Federal must play spearhead Darren Bradshaw in the final two rounds to qualify him for the finals.
Nicholas, Jake Boyle and Steven Pulla were outstanding in the midfield for Corryong while Nathan Grimes kicked six majors despite being hampered by a leg injury.
Federal’s Luke Heiser tried hard but lacked support around the packs.
Corryong will fancy its chances of beating Federal in the finals after bringing down the Swans in their last two meetings.
Federal won their clash in the season opener by 11 points but almost coughed up a 56-point half-time lead.
Cudgewa defeated Bullioh by 26 points.
Nathan Hewatt and Jim Cleven played well for the Blues.
Tumbarumba were too strong for Border-Walwa.
