A development application for a 20-megawatt solar farm has been lodged with Wangaratta Council after initial plans for a 10-megawatt system.
Countrywide Energy submitted the application on Thursday for a site adjacent to the North Wangaratta industrial estate.
The project would cost $35 million to build with hopes the first sod will be turned by the end of the year.
