Kyle Danaher, 26, tested positive to methamphetamine while driving in Marshall Street last August.
He told Wodonga officers he had taken speed the previous night and morning.
It was Danaher’s second positive test to drug driving and led to his licence being disqualified for six months.
John Murphy became a magistrate in 1980 and told the court he had seen drugs, like heroin, come and go.
But nothing has compared to the scourge of methamphetamine.
“There’s nothing like this drug ice,” he told Danaher.
“It’s a drug that strikes all levels of society.
“This drug ice, it doesn’t matter who you are.
“It’s so addictive.
“It’s really heartbreaking.
“Get off it son, alright?”
