Over the last six weeks, the 24-year-old upped her exercise regime, working out five to six times a week, in order to get "lean and strong" ahead of the highly anticipated event. But a report suggesting her figure was not as toned as it was in previous fashion parades left the DJs ambassador feeling defensive.

Opting for a bell-sleeve, button-up, cream dress by Kym Ellery for the black carpet ahead of the runway, it was put to her by Fairfax Media how good she looked to which the usually mild-manner model replied: "Not according to the Daily Mail.

"Apparently I have no abs, they are absolutely 'missing'," she said, speaking about an article on the tabloid with the headline: "Noticeably abs-ent? Jesinta Campbell appears to have toned down her Iron Woman abs after revealing incredibly ripped six-pack last year."

"They call me pregnant one week and fat the next. I can't win and I am really sick of the body shaming. People just need to embrace women," the 24-year-old added.

"I'm fit and I'm healthy and I think girls need more role models like that."

She continued: "I always get nervous and being in front of 400 people in your bikini is really daunting."

Campbell had her fiancee Sydney Swans player Lance "Buddy" Franklin, 29, on-hand for moral support, who was back sitting suited and booted in the front row after missing the autumn-winter collection launch in February as he dealt with an unspecified mental illness and "a mild form of epilepsy".

While Franklin didn't mind smiling and posing in a loving embrace with the former beauty queen for the cameras, he shot down interview attempts by gathered media.

"No, I'm good. I'm not talking," Franklin snapped to Fairfax Media, before turning to a friend and sniggering.

Oblivious to his surly manner, moments later Campbell beamed as she spoke of her delight at having the sportsman by her side.

"That's my guy chilling over there in the corner," she said.

"Whether he is here or not I always have got his support. It is nice to have him here though."

Perhaps Franklin was feeling out of his comfort zone surrounded by fellow VIPs in Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, Jodhi Meares, Gemma Ward, Justin Hemmes, Carla Zampatti, Camilla Franks and the like, so he clung on tight to fellow Sydney Swans player and model, Tom Derickx.

Derickx, who also moonlights as a singer in his two-man band Kayex, said there would be no partying for him or Franklin as they would be abiding by the "no drinking rule during the week".

"Buddy is one of my best mates, so I am here to support Jesinta Campbell and then take off, so I can focus on the game this Saturday," he said.

It was also suggested by a media outlet that ambassadors Campbell and her fellow DJs ambassador Jason Dundas were engaged in a dispute during the rehearsals, but the X Factor host put those rumours to bed.

"We were just having a laugh and the photographer just caught a random moment," Dundas laughed.

"I think it was just a candid photo that is all it is."
