With the Hoppers enjoying a week off, Brew was in the Tigers’ best players in their six-point loss to the Northern Blues.
There was a strong Border and North East flavour in the Werribee line-up, which contained former Ovens and Murray players Josh Porter (Wangaratta), Tom Holman (North Albury), Matt Munro (Albury) and Nathan Laracy (Wodonga). Harrison King and Matt Brett, who are aligned to Myrtleford, also played for the Tigers.
Brew and Mannagh return to North Albury’s side this weekend to take on Yarrawonga at J.C. Lowe Oval but Werribee’s development team will get another injection of young Ovens and Murray talent in Wodonga pair Mason Marr and Trent Williamson as the Murray Bushrangers have a bye.
Corowa-Rutherglen’s Ryan Garthwaite will play for GWS in the NEAFL.
