Racing NSW general manager industry and analytical Scott Kennedy confirmed on Friday the decision to extend the nomination period had flushed out more nominations for vacant positions on the board.
Four nominations were originally received for the independent board positions which included three members of the former board.
They were long-serving club president David Wallace, vice-president Mark Cronin and committee man Dick Sloane.
Mr Kennedy declined to identify the other nominations in contention.
Racing NSW will put together an interview panel including representatives from the club and Racing NSW.
The successful board nominations are expected to be announced by the end of August.
The member-elected board members were Glen Chapman, Gerald Judd, Geoff Miller, Craig Sheather, Ann McHardy and Rod Mullavey.
Former committee men John Ervin and Geoff Alexander retired and Wayne Matsinos did not renominate.
The board reshuffle coincides with a major $1.2 million track upgrade due to begin after its next scheduled meeting, which takes place on August 19.
The club is still planning to stage its spring event days without racing on the Albury track.
They are Cox Plate, Melbourne Cup and a traditional pre-Christmas meeting.
Other clubs in NSW have gone through similar board changes when undertaking major works to their tracks which has included industry funding.
The track upgrade will include major civil works on the back straight followed by irrigation and drainage improvements to the entire track.
Mr Kennedy said the successful contractor for the works would be confirmed shortly.
The 2017 Gold Cup is still scheduled to go ahead in March.
Albury has been hit hard by the wet winter with two meetings lost including one scheduled for Friday.
It was transferred to Wagga with Racing NSW scheduling another meeting in the southern districts at Corowa on Tuesday.
ARC chief executive John Miller hoped the club would race on August 19.
"These last few days have been fantastic weather wise," he said.
"A change in the weather would be good.
"But there is more showers meant to be coming next week.
"It's so wet at present so we can't afford to get any more rain."
