Goodwin will make his way to the nation's capital after winning a one-year contract with the Raiders, following in the footsteps of local football products Tom Rogic and Luke Pilkington.
Here's a look at Canberra's reality stars and their journey to the professional arena:
Lou Goodwin – Winner of 'NRL Rookie'
Carpenter Lou Goodwin wasn't going to miss his chance when the call went out in 2015 to audition for the first season of the NRL Rookie.
The ex-Albury Thunder skipper had already left his teammates behind after a third straight premiership win in 2014 to take up a deal with Raiders feeder-club Mounties.
Now the Ron Massey Cup backrower has seized what was quite possibly his last chance at an NRL contract by winning a one-year deal with Canberra.
The son of former first grader Matt, Goodwin was chosen as the victor ahead of ex-Woden Valley Ram Jordan Martin, the son of Canberra premiership player Paul.
Canberra beat out the Gold Coast in the race for Goodwin's signature, and Raiders football manager John Bonasera said the club's country feel meant the West Wyalong junior would fit right in.
The former Sydney Roosters under 20s captain will add further depth to Canberra's already overflowing forward stocks.
Tom Rogic – Winner of Nike Football Academy's 'The Chance'
From the humble surrounds of ANU's Willows Oval to lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy in front of nearly 50,000 fans, Tom Rogic has come a long way.
The Canberran joined more than 75,000 others in entering Nike's search for football's next big thing in 2011, and was still standing as the competition was cut down to the final eight. He had won a place in the Nike Football Academy where he would live as a professional footballer for a year.
Rogic soon signed with the Central Coast Mariners – where he made 24 appearances – before making his debut for the Socceroos in November 2012. It was the start of a whirlwind three months that ended with Rogic linking up with Scottish giants Celtic in early 2013.

After struggling to hold down a spot for Celtic, Rogic was loaned to the Melbourne Victory in January 2014 for five months. His return to the A-League was an injury-riddled move that cost him a spot at the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Asian Cup.
Rogic made his first start for Celtic in nearly two years last August, and capped off his triumphant return with a goal as they thrashed Motherwell 7-0 to secure their fifth straight Scottish Premiership in May.
Rogic is now being pursued by English powerhouse Arsenal and Spain's Valencia, whilst Italy's Fiorentina are leading a rumoured four Serie A clubs keen on the Canberran's signature.
Luke Pilkington – Winner of 'Football Superstar'
Luke Pilkington was the pioneer of Canberra's success in sport's reality television world, winning the second season of Foxtel's Football Superstar in 2009.
The former ANU captain's A-League career was short-lived after winning a contract with the Melbourne Victory and a scholarship with Monash University as a 19-year-old.
Canberra footballer Luke Pilkington won Foxtel's Football Superstar in 2009.
Pilkington was cut after playing a handful of A-League games and coming off the bench in an Asian Champions League match.
Rogic's former ANU teammate is now plying his trade at the Bentleigh Greens in the Victorian National Premier League, who have forced their way into the FFA Cup Round of 16.
