Although the teams are set to clash again in a fortnight in the first weekend of finals, Payne said he wouldn’t be holding anything back.
“It’s just another game we want to win,” Payne said.
“Nothing changes in the fact that we will probably play them in a few weeks time.
“It’s business as usual.
“I’m a believer in winning form being good form and we won’t be resting blokes for the sake of trying to hold anything back.”
While Howlong is likely to adopt a similar mindset, both teams will take under-strength sides into the clash at Howlong.
The Spiders are confident Rohan Davies and Dion Munkara will be back for the finals while Adam Houlihan, Payne, Sam Burdon and Cody Keenes will be back for their rematch at Walbundrie.
Midfielder Steve Fouracre will return from suspension on Saturday.
Holbrook will be desperate to upset Osborne to be any chance of avoiding the wooden spoon.
Only percentage separates the Brookers and Culcairn with two rounds remaining and coach Adrian Whitehead is keen to build momentum for next season.
Whitehead has resigned 90 per cent of his young list for next year and is on the look-out for a handful of players to climb the ladder in the club’s 125th year.
The Cats are returning to full strength and last weekend’s narrow loss to Howlong showed they will be a threat in the finals.
Veteran Culcairn defender Drue Mortlock has been ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury.
Mortlock was hurt during last weekend’s loss to Murray Magpies and will sit out clashes against Rand-Walbundrie-Walla and Osborne.
The Lions can jump to 10th spot with a big win over Rand-Walbundrie-Walla who have been winless since defeating Lockhart in round seven.
Ryan Lavery and Chris Hutchinson look set to play key roles for the Giants while Culcairn needs Dane Hallinan and Adam Eady to win plenty of the ball.
Murray Magpies will look to end Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock’s winning run at Urana Road Oval.
It shapes as the reigning premier’s biggest challenge this season with the Magpies hard to beat on a heavy home track.
Billabong Crows can stamp themselves as the best side outside the top six by defeating Lockhart.
The Crows are gaining plenty of drive from Al Austin and James O’Connell while Luke Kuschert is proving a target in attack.
Young George Sandral is also proving elusive in attack.
Lockhart is still a rough chance of playing finals if Osborne slips up and it will need Jordan Harrington, and Jesse Margosis to fire to stay in the mix.
Henty will struggle to counter Jindera at Henty.
The Bulldogs lowered their colours last weekend and, with several players set to return, should grab the points.
