The Bulldogs need to beat Wangaratta in the final round and hope the Hoppers can beat Wodonga Raiders in order to make the top five but coach Dean Harding was delighted they kept their name in the mix with a thumping 18.13 (121) to 4.14 (38) victory.
Matt Seiter was best afield in the ruck while Tom Johnson stepped up after Daniel Bradshaw’s withdrawal to kick four goals.
“We’re in the finals conversation when we haven’t been in it for so long,” Harding said.
“To get to round 18 and still be some sort of chance, is a credit to the boys.”
