Joining 496 others from across Australia, they will climb 28 floors of the Crown Metropol Hotel in Melbourne, wearing gear weighing 25 kilograms.

The Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb, taking place on September 3, aims to raise $343,000 for the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.
Mr Wattie said Genesis Fitness Wodonga co-owner Brendan Stewart was donating his time and equipment to whip them into shape.
