In a dour second-half slog, Sam McCallum put the Swampies in front when he snapped truly with two minutes left on the clock.
The Magpies had a chance to regain the lead in the dying seconds following a Henty error but failed to capitalise and the visitors gamely held on.
Henty defender James Ellis said it was a relief to hear the siren.
“It was a good way to finish the season,” Ellis said.
“We were up by five goals, then dropped off and then came back again.
“Young sides are going to be a little inconsistent and everyone was just happy to finish on a positive note.”
Henty’s Hayden Singe had the ball on a string, coach Josh Gaynor won plenty of centre clearances and Beau Connell was strong in defence.
Sam Terlich’s five goals came before half-time while McCallum booted the Swampies’ only two second-half majors.
