Hands injured his pectoral during the Diesels’ 36-14 loss to Gundagai at Anzac Park on Sunday and could be sidelined for the rest of the season.
After being locked at 10-all at half-time, Gundagai surged ahead in the final 40 minutes with Mat Rose, Ben Reardon, Dane O’Hehir, Damian Willis and Kieran Pearce running in tries.
Tiger coach James Smart sat out the match with the playmaker still battling to overcome an ankle injury.
Gundagai will take on minor premier Southcity in the qualifying final at Harris Park on Sunday.
The Tigers also have their injury worries with powerful winger Phil Latu injuring his knee.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s finals are set to be played at Junee’s Loftus Oval or Laurie Daley Oval depending on the condition of the grounds.
Thunder still has four teams – first and second grade, league tag and under 16s – in the premiership race.
