A series of cold fronts during the weekend brought more than 50 centimetres of fresh powder to Falls Creek.
The latest dumping brought the snow base to about 142 centimetres. Both the ground and the trees remain white, much to the delight of skiers, snowboarders and resort management.
Anthony O'Shea, of Falls Creek Ski Lifts, said there was plenty more to come in the coming weeks.
"More than 30 centimetres of fresh snow on the mountain this weekend just for starters,” he said.
“There's a huge amount of snow in the forecast for the coming week and the skiing and snowboarding in late August and into September is going to be the best of the season so far.”
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts snow and sub-zero temperatures from Wednesday until Friday at Falls Creek.
The sun is expected to peer through the clouds for Saturday snow-goers before the wind sets in on Sunday.
