The volunteer-run organisations assisted with 354 animal adoptions in the last financial year.
About 40 volunteers are part of the group and several committee members have put together the inaugural wine and nibble night.
The event will be held at the Commercial Club Albury, from 6.30pm Friday.
Secretary Danielle Maclean said the money would help a range of animals including dogs and puppies, cats and kittens and the occasional guinea pig, rabbit or even a rat.
“We have had far too many surrenders, about seven in one day last week,” she said.
“It is just heartbreaking, people don’t always look to the future.
“When you get a pet it is forever and you keep that pet in good times and bad – you don’t just dump it.
“Some animals come in and need vet treatment, the money we raise will pay for medications and vet costs.
“Some animals we need to buy food for and we also vaccinate, microchip, de-sex and register the animals so they don't end up back in rescue … it will just help us keep running.”
The rescue group is not-for-profit and receives no government funding.
A slide show of past and present animals up for adoption will play throughout the night.
Wine and cheese tastings supplied by Ringer Reef Wines, Cofield Wines, Gapsted Wines and Dal Zotto Wines will be available on the night.
“We don’t have a shop front, all fostering is done in private homes by foster carers,” Ms Maclean said.
“Lots of carers, committee members and volunteers will be there on the night, we can help out for people who want information.
“It should be a fun night.”
Raffles, lucky door prizes and hampers have all been donated by Border and North East businesses.
Tickets are $10 and can be pre-purchased or bought on entry.
