HotHouse Theatre, La Trobe University and Write Around the Murray will present the shortlisted works in SOLO: Short Monologues on Stage at the Butter Factory Theatre in Wodonga on September 8.
It is the third year of the Solo Monologue competition.
Judges selected a shortlist of 12 monologues from published, unpublished and high school writers from a record 204 entries, which came from all states and territories in Australia, South Africa, Britain and the United States.
Shortlisted entrants received instruction from award-winning playwright, Mary Rachel Brown.
These monologues will be performed as readings by HotHouse Studio Ensemble, Black Border Theatre and Drama School students from 7.30pm.
The winners in three categories will be awarded a $500 prize.
