There’s still a few fishos going down a bit with downriggers and so on, but from what we’re hearing there’s no real need to.
Lake Banamboola – just below Dart township is also producing some really nice trout at the minute. Try a scrubbie under a bubble or walk the bank spinning. Both methods are working well.
Streams – open in Victoria on Thursday. Yahoo! Most are still a bit high but are more than fishable. It’s going to be interesting to see how the 2016 opening pans out. Let’s hope for a big one.
Lake Hume – trout are still patchy, but again some good fish were landed through the week. The yellas continue to improve, particularly for those fishing worms and yabbies around the edges.
Crays – you’ve only got a few days left if you want to have a go. The season closes midnight Wednesday.
Murray cod – same deal. The season closes in both states at midnight on Wednesday.
Blowering – would be my destination of choice if I was having one last crack before season’s end.
We’ve already mentioned Mick and Broady’s catch, but others obviously had success. Charles and Warrick Barlow nailed a bunch of good fish with a couple over the metre. Another crew I heard of picked up 13 fish for the day, with three more than a metre. Unbelievable!
Eucumbene – produced some great trout last weekend.
