The 17-year-old defender played an important role in guiding North Albury into the top five and joins Hoppers Grace Senior and Nakita Singe and Wangaratta young gun Carly Perso as a nominee for the award.
The Hoppers will take on Wangaratta Rovers in Sunday’s elimination final with Goldsworthy set to tackle Hawk attackers Jess Clarke and Caitlin Conroy.
Hoppers coach Paula Cary said Goldsworthy had made a superb transition to A grade netball after coming through the club’s 16-and-under program.
“She’s very versatile and she can get some amazing intercepts,” she said.
“She’s not that tall but she’s got good elevation and really quick reaction.”
Should the Hoppers prevail against the Hawks, they will take on the loser of Saturday’s qualifying final between Lavington and Wangaratta.
