MUCH like musicians can have a difficult second album, Murray United’s second season in the NPL has been less than stellar.

But the Border franchise showed, for the second week running, that they’re unwilling to let it all be for nought.
Fresh from last weekend’s much needed victory, the club kicked on when they travelled to face the Springvale White Eagles on Saturday.
Twice United came from a goal down to hold the finals contenders to a 2-2 draw.
Geoffry Lino tapped one in from the back post to equalise in the shadow of half-time, only for United to once again be slow out of the blocks in the second half.
After the Eagles pulled ahead in the 53rd minute, United once again kicked into gear, creating plenty of chances before Zac Walker capitalised on a Lionel Masudi through-ball in the 70th minute.
“We're happy with the result, it was a difficult journey today,” coach James Coutts said.
“Performance-wise there's obviously elements we can improve, but we showed great character to come back twice.
“We had a sloppy start to the second half, but it was pleasing to see the boys regroup and create plenty of good chances after that.
“We're happy with the result and how we finished, but we also could have gone on and pinched it.”
With a chance to round out their season with a win when they host last-placed Nunawading City next Saturday, Coutts said the team would have to re-produce the last fortnight's effort once again.
“We've spoke a lot about not letting the season go to waste,” he said.
“It'd be nice to get something out of that last game, but we'll have to see how that pans out.”
