While the premiership star will miss Sunday’s first semi-final against Wodonga Raiders at John Foord Oval, coach Chris Kennedy isn’t prepared to rule him out for the season.
“He’s getting it looked at,” Kennedy said.
“He’s never done one before so he’s not sure how bad it is.
“He’ll get scans and we’ll find out from there.”
McMillan joined Yarrawonga’s horrendous injury list when he limped off the ground during the second quarter of the Pigeons’ 66-point loss to Lavington at Albury Sportsground on Saturday.
He could be replaced in the side by fellow tall Damon Symes who is set to return from an ankle injury.
Tyler Bonat is rated a certainly to play after recovering from a shoulder injury while Nick Lawless should shrug off a knee injury in time to play Wodonga Raiders.
“We are being tested on the injury front but Tyler will be back and Nick Lawless is a good chance as well,” Kennedy said.
“The club has developed a list through the reserves and under-18s and hopefully we will get some good news later in the week.”
Morris Medallist Craig Ednie is highly unlikely to play but could be a chance if Yarrawonga advances to the preliminary final.
Defender Scott Oswald came through his comeback match in the reserves unscathed after returning from a broken hand.
Wodonga Raiders could be bolstered by the inclusion of experienced duo Matt McDonald and Todd Bryant for the knockout final.
Lavington has injury concerns over Will Lenehan (ankle) and Jonathon Spina (hamstring) ahead of its clash with reigning premier Albury.
The Tigers will put Aisake O’hAilpin and Michael Thompson through fitness tests later this week.
“We will see how they come up,” coach Shaun Daly said.
Meanwhile, two lower grade players will face the Ovens and Murray independent tribunal on Wednesday night.
Wodonga reserve grade player Joe Stefani has been charged with striking Yarrawonga’s Jack Vodusek during the third term on Saturday’s clash at Albury Sportsground.
Bulldog under-18 player Ryley DeAmyand has been booked for unbecoming conduct.
