The former Roo juniors will switch from rival club Beechworth to take over at the helm from Trent Castles and Greg Newbold.
In a huge plus, Castles will remain at the club as a player.
“Lee and Jay started their footy at Yackandandah so it’s great to get back them as co-coaches,” club president Brendan Johnson said.
“The name is synonymous with the club as their grandfather, John, is a life member and we have our best and fairest named after him.
“We’re really pleased to have Lee and Jay in place for next season so early as it enables us to start building for the year ahead.”
Lee represented the TDFL this year and finished equal fourth in the league medal playing for Beechworth.
He won Myrtleford’s best and fairest in 2012 and spent time with the Northern Bullants and Werribee.
Jay also played for Myrtleford and has coached Ovens and King club North Wangaratta.
Castles has co-coached Yackandandah for the past three seasons with Ash Sibraa and Greg Newbold and kicked 376 goals since 2012.
“Trent is staying on which is fantastic,” Johnson said.
“He’s done a great job as coach but with work commitments and a young family it will be as a player.”
Yackandandah has lured Arden Greiner back to the club from Bullioh while Ethan Roberts is returning following a stint with Kew.
The Roos have also resigned Daniel Cassidy and Oliver McEwan.
“We wanted to retain our players and get some locals back which we have been able to do,” Johnson said.
