A 172-square-metre home, at Somerset Rise Thurgoona, will be auctioned off with all profit going to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund. Green Homes Albury-Wodonga franchise owner David Hawkins and his wife, Beth, have been developing the concept since last year.
Trust fundraising, marketing and events manager Jane Evans said she was overwhelmed by the generosity.
“The slab has been laid, it’s coming to fruition,” she said.
“A donation in this range will really make a genuine difference at a grassroots level to so many regional patients.”
Mr Hawkins said they were relying on donations and discounts from suppliers.
“We got over all the hurdles and we have finally started, it’s great to see,” he said.
“So far everyone we have approached has jumped on board, it's been pretty amazing.”
