The finals fixtures for the AWFA and Ovens and Murray finals conspired against the Wodonga Diamonds striker and North Albury young gun on Sunday afternoon.
She didn’t have time to celebrate the Diamonds’ incredible victory on penalties, racing away to Wangaratta to play a role in the Hoppers’ equally stirring come-from-behind win over the Rovers.
Upon hearing that the soccer had run overtime, North Albury’s Paula Carey had some simple advice for the rising star.
“When I got the call about extra time I told her not to rush, not to do anything silly on the way to Wangaratta,” she said.
“A lot of our players play multiple sports, it’s something we’re really supportive of.
“I believe playing a combination of sports makes for much better sportspeople.”
Diamonds take on Boomers this Sunday.
