Matthew Bainbridge was only 21 when he came unstuck in a cross-border sting last year, but he had already helped build a drug syndicate which made a $175,000 profit.
It all came crashing down during a sting at Noreuil Park on October 22, 2015, when police swooped.
He had supplied 56 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover officer and had a further 17.94 grams of the drug in a vehicle his supplier had given him.
A search of his Maynet Place home unearthed 55.7 grams of ice in a toolbox in a shed.
The West Albury man was later charged with supplying 559.96 grams of the drug – a commercial quantity – and pleaded guilty in Albury Local Court on Monday.
The drugs had been supplied from August 18 to October 22.
Police had been listening in on his phone calls and monitoring his text messages, which were made on three phones registered in different names.
Thousands of intercepts were made.
His transactions with undercover police were also recorded.
Two Melbourne brothers had been Bainbridge’s supplier and he travelled to the city to pick up the meth, or would have it delivered.
Albury and Wodonga officers had formed Strike Force Boromi in July last year targeting cross-border drug supply.
Bainbridge sold 33 grams of ice to an undercover cop for $8000 on August 18, then 55 grams to two officers a week later for $15,000.
The following month he sold 66 grams to an undercover officer for $18,750 and nearly 110 grams for $30,000 the same month.
Another transaction worth $29,000 was made in North Albury and he received $50,000 for drugs on the day of his arrest.
He had also offered to supply one litre of GHB.
Sarah Lorraine Walters, 22, was also nabbed as part of the strike force.
The Boronia Street resident pleaded guilty to drug supply charges in Albury court on Monday.
Walters had dealt ice, MDMA and cannabis from September to November.
Her home was raided and drugs, weapons and scales seized.
A car full of people seeking to buy drugs stopped outside the home as it was being raided.
Both are set to be sentenced in Albury District Court in October.
