The video depicting Cr Thurley as the Nazi leader appeared at the weekend before disappearing from social media sites on Monday.
The mock video featured mentions of the outdoor basketball courts proposal and how rival candidates Cr Kevin Mack and Cr Darren Cameron had taken the front-running on the issue.
The two councillors denied any involvement in the parody's creation with Cr Mack the target of a similar stunt in late 2014 when he used a Jeep as the mayoral car.
“I didn't create the video, I wouldn't know how to,” Cr Cameron said.
“Whoever was behind the video sent it to me as a message on Facebook.
“I liked it and shared it.
“I thought it was quite funny and funnier than the Jeep one involving Cr Mack.”
Cr Mack said he had lodged a complaint with Facebook about the parody.
“It's not my style to belittle other candidates,” he said.
“I let my own work do the talking.”
The Greens also registered their displeasure at the video in a Facebook post.
Cr Thurley's election ticket member Ordette Mannering also made comment about the video on Facebook.
The Love Basketball Facebook group said: “It's a bit scary that people who want to be elected councillors can't take a bit of a joke.
“We thought the Greens in particular might have a sense of humour.”
Cr Thurley said he did not expect the incident would do any harm to his re-election chances on Saturday.
“It is somewhat offensive to be aligned with Adolf Hitler shouting and screaming at people,” Cr Thurley said on Monday.
“Some people found it funny, but people will vote for me for various reasons.”
Cr Thurley said he had no proof as to who was behind its creation.
“I can see fingerprints, but I've got no evidence,” he said.
Cr Thurley is chasing his second term on council after being elected four years ago.
