WODONGA’S median house price rose by 31 per cent between 2005 and 2015, but remained unchanged in the final year of that decade.

The latest Victorian Property Sales Report, published this month by Land Victoria, showed the Wodonga figure of $295,000 did not alter between 2014 and 2015 and is also the preliminary price for this year.
In 2005, Wodonga’s median house price was $226,000.
West Wodonga’s results over the 10 years showed a slower rate of overall growth, 22 per cent, but a 3 per cent increase in 2014-2015, from $296,000 to $305,000.
Victorian Valuer-General Robert Marsh said the state’s house prices had continued to grow, rising 5.4 per cent in 2015 and by 75 per cent since 2005.
“The median house price in country Victoria increased by 2.5 per cent compared to an 8.1 per cent rise in metropolitan Melbourne,” he said in the report.
Wangaratta’s 2015 median house price was $272,000, going up by 7 per cent in a year and 36 per cent in the decade.
Other median house prices for last year include Yarrawonga – $300,000, Benalla – $223,000 and Beechworth – $332,000.
