Although the Bulldogs will start rank outsiders against reigning premier Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock, they will go into the clash full of confidence after sending the Magpies crashing out of the premiership race.
Josh Walker’s side ran its opposition ragged with a 4.1 to 0.2 second quarter breaking the match open.
Walker believes his side is peaking at the right time of the season.
“It was a super effort again,” Walker said.
“To back up after last weekend was fantastic and I’m really proud of the boys.
“I think each week during the finals we have got a little bit better which is really important at this time of the year
“It’s going to be tough next weekend, but I’m happy with where we’re at.”
After a dour slog in the opening quarter, cracks started to appear in the Murray Magpies line-up as Jindera continually drove the ball forward through Jacob Millar, Kris Holman, Mick Blomeley and Daniel Middleton.
Julian Hayes continued his strong form in attack with three goals while Zac Gratton nullified Magpie dangerman Shannon Gilson.
Mick Galvin held the league’s leading goalkicker Ash Murray to two goals and Tom Weldon restricted Derek Murray to one.
“We pride ourselves on our run and I thought we did that well today,” Walker said.
“It’s a big part of our game.”
The Magpies swung their line-up around after half-time but were unable to make serious inroads as the margin blew out to 40 points during the final term.
Michael Sims, Alex Freeman and Wade Knights battled hard against the odds.
Walker, who sat out the preliminary final due to a hamstring injury, said the side came through the clash unscathed.
“We will throw caution to the wind next week and see what happens,” he said.
“Obviously we will try and structure up against them, but really it’s about getting out there and giving it our best shot and seeing what happens.”
After showing plenty during the season, it was disappointing end for Murray Magpies who lost their final home and away match against Henty before bowing out of the finals with losses to Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock and Jindera.
Jindera will be chasing its first flag since 2011 on Saturday while the Saints will be looking to claim their third premiership in the past four seasons.
Meanwhile, Lockhart has appointed Jake Phillips as coach for next season.
After two years as assistant coach to Shane Lenon, Phillips has been promoted to the top job as the club attempts to break into the top six.
Lockhart has lost Mitch and Jeremy Sykes to Turvey Park while several other players are set to switch to the Farrer league.
Key player Jordan Harrington has resigned with the Demons despite being linked to several Ovens and Murray clubs.
