JUST over a year ago, it seemed as though the curtain had been called on Norths veteran Nan Latta's career.

The Border hockey superstar, who at one point played for Australia, had ruptured her achilles tendon.
It seemed like her career was over.
But it seems nothing can keep Latta off the field.
On Sunday afternoon the Norths veteran helped guide her team to a convincing 3-0 grand final win over United.
Latta was named best on ground.
Norths coach Danny Hicks said it was a memorable win for the club.
“It was a very even contest throughout the first half,” he said.
“The score was still locked at nil-all at half time, it was anyone's game at that point.”
Norths composed themselves during the break and came out firing in the second half, holding firm in defence while pouncing on their opportunities in attack.
“We just started to convert our chances,” Hicks said.
“Somebody has to have a bit of luck on grand final day, this time it was our turn to get a bit of fortune.”
Norths’ last premiership came in 2014, when they upset the Falcons 2-1.
The boot was on the other foot this time around, as Norths entered the final as favourites ahead of United, who finished the regular season in fourth place but powered into the finals.
“We were feeling confident going into the game, but anything can happen in the finals,” Hicks said.
“It was a real team effort.
“Nan played a great game to win best on, but I thought we had a couple of others across the park who made very strong contributions as well.
“Our halves were sensational.
“Leah Wilesmith and Emily Thorneycroft were good all day.
“The other positive is that the division one men played finals for the first time in a long time, it's a good sign for the club.”
In the Div one men's final, the Jeremy Maggs-inspired Magpies were too good for United, claiming a thrilling 3-2 win.
