About 280 riders from Victoria and NSW will converge on the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre for the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria’s top showjumping event of the year.
Border Districts Showjumping Club will field five teams at the competition, including a team of four young riders called The Bambinos.
The club won the right to host the event after taking out the 2015 title and spokesperson Jess Bertram said they were in with a shot again.
“This competition will feature a diverse representation of riders from beginners through to more senior competitors,” Ms Bertram said.
“Our club is working hard to develop showjumping in the region and also promote the fact we have a great facility here in Thurgoona.”
The event comes on the back of the club’s highly successful grand prix last month, which attracted some of the sport’s most elite athletes.
