Highway patrol officers at Albury have welcomed their new, brightly-coloured police car.

Albury MP Greg Aplin said funding for the vehicle, one of 28 around the state, was raised through traffic light camera fines.

“The high-visibility cars will be out on highways right across NSW where speeding is most likely to have devastating consequences,” he said.

“This is an investment in greater safety for our community and additional resources for our traffic and highway patrol officers.”
